Pileated Woodpecker

Beth and I were out looking for snow scenes to photograph on Sunday when we came across a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers on a tree right by the parking lot we were in. This is one of several good images I was able to capture. Hope you enjoy this image. David

Hagley Museum

I had to head toward Wilmington, DE yesterday, so our daughter, Kimberly, could make Cookies with her Nana and cousins. Because we had a few hours time while the gals were making cookies, David and I decided to go photoing that area. We drove by a covered bridge, but couldn't stop because the snow had the pull offs for parking blocked. I took a couple of shots of the bridge through the windshield of the car. As you can guess, those photo's are not presentable. Then we headed to the Brandywine State park. We hiked through the two feet of snow to a small creek that feeds into the Brandywine. I had some trouble navigating through the snow, but I got some creek shots. I need to revisit that area to survey the lay of the land without all of the snow. We then proceeded to Hagley Museum. They were just digging out of the snow; we were the only visitors there. This is another place worthy of another visit.

Wind Swept

What would the beach be with out a summer breeze to cool you down? I used a slow shutter speed to capture the wind blowing through the grass to reflect the feeling of motion. I also added a bit of soft focus in the digital dark room to give the image a softer feel.
